Bluetooth Car Key Memory?
Hi!
Can the TCU be made to connect to a specific phone depending on the key? When wife and i are both present in the car, it always connects to her phone. I want it to connect to mine when I am driving. |
TCU usually does not operate as BT unit... the ULF is BT unit, that can take upto 4 devices, the last paired device takes precedence in pairing to the ULF if two phones are within range... if you pair phone #5 to ULF, the phone #1 falls off the pairing...
ULF - ultra low frequency TCU - telematic control unit both connect to same harness, in old models, it is one or the other, in newer models - one device, two functions (also newer devices did SES, voice recognition) |
It's definitely a TCU CDMA version 2007 ish date on it. I'm paired just fine to both phones, but I want the active BT connection to be for my phone when my keys are in and wife's phone when her keys are in. I have a V6 ULF in storage if that supports key memory? I had a look at the trace file for the TCU in NCS Expert but didn't see anything relevant.

you have newer device but the function is still the same - no key memory... if you prove me wrong, i will be happy as a little kid, as that idea is great!!!!

Lol! I hope it is possible. Finally got a BMW with factory BT, yet it sucks! Somebody wake up the hacker!
