Connects2/ Parrot Kit for a 2004 X3 with Navigation
Hi all,
I've searched this exhaustively on xoutpost and bimmerfest, but I want to get some things cleared up. I want to add bluetooth to the car. It's a 2004 X3 with Navigation, hi-fi audio but not Harmon Kardon to my knowledge, so I don't think that should be a problem. I was going to order the connects2 here: Connects2 CTPPAR008 BMW, Parrot Bluetooth Steering Wheel Adaptor - Low Cost Car Audio 1. This is the one with the 40 pin (new) connector, has anyone had any experience with compatibility? I would hate to order the 40 pin version and have to return it for the 19 pin connecter (old)). 2. Are all the connections in the back for me, since I have factory nav? Is it simply a plug and play with the CK3000 and the connects2 in the back, and running mic up to the front? 3. When installing, do I need to disconnect the battery? A little wary about doing that, as I have heard of nav computers getting permanently bricked because of having the battery disconnected at the wrong time. |
