pairing trouble
i just got a 04 4.4 about a month ago, i discovered the bluetooth module today and i am trying to pair my phone. when i push the talk button on the steering wheel it says "SYSTEM OFF" and when i go over to the navigation menu and go to telephone its says activate phone, and its not flashing.
|
"system off" is said After the voice actvation is is activated and either you don't say anything or you press the voice activation button AGAIN.
If you have BMW assist/Bluetooth module you will simply need to look for the vehicle from the phone when you first turn on the ignition. You should also find your passkey code as you will need this, too. |
Hi
I have just picked up my new X5!!!! When I try to pair my old t39. It pairs (with the passkey) and says succeeded. But then says activate phone and never goes off it. The phone shows Bluetooth activity but that isit. Any ideas. I understand my p900 will not work. John |
I have seen similar problems with some of the TCUs (on the MY05 vehicles). I'm pretty sure it boils down to that the phone ins't compatible with the TCU.

HI
On the compatibility page it says manual transmission of phone book? How do you do that? I suppose I should look around further but this is easier. John |
when i first turn on the car and i go to activate phone menu and try to pair my phone my phone doesnt pick up the car.

how do i get the BLUETOOTH PAIRING message on my screen?
|
Hi
I have only just got the car but I have managed at last to pair a phone. You open the top part of the arm rest to find a button. press this for about 3 secs whilst still holding the button turn the ignition on and carry on holding for about another 3 secs, The screen should then turn to the message bluetooth pairing when you can then pair your phone. I am sure there are better people around to tell you! John |
i tried everything and i still cant get the BLUETOOTH PAIRING MESSAGE on the screen. can anyone help me
|
If you have a later TCU, you won't get a message until after you have done the pairing. On the older ULF based systems you would get this message to tell you its ready to pair.
|
One problem I found was the timing of the pressing.
Open armrest, press button for 3 secs turn ignition on (either posistion) Keep holding button hold pressesd button for another 3 secs (not much longer) and let go. The screen then went to pairing. One thing I was doing wrong was holding the buttton for a lot longer than 3 secs after turning the ignition on and it would not go to pairing. Now I count 3 to 4 flashes of the lights on the display. Of course the system I have may be totally different to yours and I might be telling you rubbish as I am no expert but it works for me. By the way mine is a late 2005 X5. Good luck John |
when ever i push the talk button in the arm rest no message comes up and when ever i press the button on the steering wheel it wont do anything. but when i hold the button down on the steering wheel for 3 seconds it will display and say VOICE RECOGNIZATION. and when ever go over to telephone from my navi screen it will say activate phone and the lights on the top right corner of the navi will remain red it wont flash or anything.
i cant get the phone paired.. |
