Bluetooth Code
 

Gang,
I'm trying to enable the bluetooth on my '05 4.8is but I don't have the original code from the car (bought it used). Anybody know what a default code is? Or is there such a thing?

You will need to take it to the dealer. They will have to connect to the DIS machine and read it from the TCU. There is no default code. Did you receive any books/owners manual when you bought it?

Ok, dumb question, what's the TCU? I checked all of the manuals, and the manuals I have don't even refer to bluetooth. I know that it's there because my phone sees it, I just don't have the code.

Audi's is something brainless like 1234 or 0000...I guess we BMW owners are more complicated :)

The Bluetooth passkey is on a card with the TCU info "Telephone Control Unit"
If you dont have that card, you can look on the TCU for the passkey. It will be on a label with PK---- (4 digit number). If there is no label on the TCU, then you will have to take it to the dealer.

It's a slender long metallic box which resides below the nav on the lowest part of the component rack mounted vertically at an angle and perpendicular to the horizontally mounted components i.e. DVD Nav unit, CD Changer etc...in the back left section of the cargo area. You will notice a purple plug coming out of one end of it. You will need to remove the plastic holder to the left of the spare tire to access it since it sits just below cargo floor level in the rack. Does that make any sense at all?? It should be secured with two white plastic nuts.

My passcode is 8080, not complicated at all :)

Yep, I found it, no sticker or anything that I could see on it. I'll just run by the dealer and see if they can pull it for me. Thanks guys!

Did you remove it to see if the sticker was on the other side?

Did you guys tell him to remove the TCU and look on the bottom side where the sticker w/the passkey is usually found? Maybe he just looked at the TCU and assumed there was no label? It is not visible without actually removing the unit.
