Quad exhaust on an E36? Interesting. Are you running dual outlets off the engine or is the right side split off the after the cat? Did you go through the spare tire well?

I would imagine that you've had your E36 M3 for awhile. It's a great car and even though it's 2 generations old, the aftermarket keeps producing new parts for it. Yours looks like its done up very nicely. Good job.

Well yeah the e36 has authentic ac schnitzer kit on it and I absolutely love that car, and yes even that ots old car I really like it and wont never sell it, for now it has dinan chip, dinan trany chip, carbon fiber intake, but I am planing on installing e46 m3 engine with twin turbo very soon. And the exhaust is dual after cats.

We will definitely need some pics and dyno results after the E46 engine is dropped in...sounds like the start of a good holiday list.

Speaking as a prior E36 M3 owner, did you already sort through the compatibility issues between your E36 and the S54 engine? There's a lot - enough to make this engine swap project come to a grinding halt. You're going to need a tech who is well-versed in the black art of BMW electronics.

You might be better off with swapping in an E36 3.2L S52 M3 engine as opposed to the E46 S54 engine - it's an OEM swap, all the necessary electronic components are in the BMW OEM catalog, it turns a very complicated swap (S54 into E36) into a simpler swap (S52 into E36).

Build an S52 engine and put on an Active Autowerkes twin screw supercharger (418 hp flywheel, 330 hp rear wheels) and your finished E36 M3 will outgun most anything on the street including E39 M5's.

Hmmm that’s a very interesting idea... and I should really think about it, the problem is that I test drove my buddies e36 with e46 m3 motor and SMG transmition and wow is all I can say that thing was a dream had very fun...but its not that complicated I have it all written down ill try to find it and post it up. BTW I saw e46 m3 engine with 32,000 miles that sold on ebay for 2,500 If I can find a deal like that Il be all over it, since I did everything in exterior and interior and performance which is the most important is what is left, but if I make it turbo or supercharger, the car cant be a daily driver haha which is what Im going for. And btw I was hoping to get props on the x5 but its great to see members of X5World know about e36 as well thanks a lot guys I appreciate the support

Very nice! I remember seeing your 6er with those huge wheels in a previous post. They look great.

Lots of former E36 owners here. I still like the E36 M3, especially one that's a little tuned. The Vader seats are still some of the coolest seat BMW has ever used.
