I use Connollys Hide Food. I buy it on ebay for about $20 and it lasts a good long while. It's supposed to be for Jaguars, but my car doesnt seem to know the difference.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JAGUA...spagenameZWDVW

I use the OEM BMW leather cleaner/conditioner, and also the Zymol Leather Conditioner. Both work well.

Here you go if its is just up keep go with Einszett Leather care. (cleaner and conditioner) no scent and finishes off matte like OEM
http://detailersdomain.com/index.asp...PROD&ProdID=40 If you need a cleaner and conditioner try Adam's Leather Cleaner and Adam's Leather Conditioner (has a new leather type scent) http://detailersdomain.com/index.asp...ROD&ProdID=122 http://detailersdomain.com/index.asp...PROD&ProdID=76

Huge props for einszett Leather Care that Phil recommended. I just used to on the gray seats in my '02 X5 and the stuff works like a champ. It's easy to use and no mess like Lexol. The finish is clean and matte, like Phil stated, and it totally cleaned up the leather.

Here is a bit of a noob question. Will these products tend to leave a really oily, slippery finish? I just picked up a used X5 from a non BMW dealer and as part of their "detailing" process, they applied something to the seats that left them with a very shiny, slippery, oily finish.
I am not very happy with it and wondering if anyone has any tips on what I might do next. I have tried both a dry cloth and one with just some warm water but I can't get more than a few wipes in and the cloth and the water get saturated with the residue. I suspect I'll just have to keep going at it but if anyone has any tips, I'd appreciate it. |

I'm no expert. But I would try the leather cleaner, then conditioner mentioned above. I bet it'll take it off. Non BMW dealers and their armor all on leather-- who could be that clueless?
