Leather Cleaner: what do you use
Now I'm not talking for leather on a new motor. Gliptone is good and I know a lot of the leather guys use it but I was thinking there must be better out there. |

I am still using Lexol too for basic up-keep. My first bottle was from the BMW dealership parts counter. It is not expensive and has kept my seats looking very good for 50k miles. Have used Zymol too in the past with decent results. Phil will have a recommendation for sure. Adam's and Einszett probably. |

If you guys really want to use something amazing I would say that Leather Master can't be beat.
On the first application you can go with this 3 step approach. 1. clean with LM strong cleaner (monthly or as needed) 2. protect with protectant (recommended 2 times a year) 3. apply some vital (conditioner probably monthly depending on use of vehicle and where its stored) http://detailersdomain.com/index.asp...nfID=20&Page=1 Or if you leather is new I would recommend Einszett Leather care a cleaner/conditioner http://detailersdomain.com/index.asp...PROD&ProdID=40 Let me know if you have any questions.

Bmw Leather Cleaner always is a safe choice and it works great.

Leatherique
Leatherique is widely regarded as one of the very best leather cleaners and conditioners on the market. It is a two step process, that actually "floats" dirt and contaminants up out of the grain, and I have found their products visually superior on light colored, older, or heavily soiled leather. You won't notice it's effectiveness as much on black, but I am still happy knowing I am preserving my leather with the very best. It's expensive (and goes a long way), but if you are keeping your vehicle only for a short time period you may be just as happy with a less expensive product.
*One side note - if the previous owner dyed the seats, the Leatherique may lift some of the dye. If it's good enought for Rolls Royce and Connolly Hides, it good enough for me! A complete care guide (and history lesson) can be viewed on the attachemnt. Last edited by mfiver; 11-08-2007 at 03:58 PM. |
