I wanted to do the same, but I spoke to our painter at work and he looked at the grilles on his neighbours car and told me he thinks they are coated not just sprayed.So the obvious concern is the fact that sprayed ones could chip and then peel.
I think I am going to bite the bullet and get the OEM ones from crevier for $55 each grille. They look awesome with the Toledo blue.
