Dealership attacks a brand new 2014 Audi S4!

Got your attention ; ). Here we have a brand new 2014 Audi S4 that came to us for new car prep which turned into a full paint correction, Opti Coat, and Xpel Ultimate Installation.

What we thought would be an easy routine job turned into much more. The dealer induced a lot of linear scratches from doing the customer a favor and removing snow off the car at deliver, unfortunately (I see this a lot) the dealer delivered the car at night....... Exterior

- Wheels were prepped with Sonax Wheel Cleaner and cleaned up with various brushes
- Tires were spritzed down with Adam’s All Purpose Cleaner and washed down
- Wheel wells were cleaned up
- Washed with Adam's Car Wash
- Decon with Auto Finesse Iron Out
- Wash down and rinsed
- Door jambs were cleaned up
- Nano Scrub AutoScrub
- Dried
- Tires dressed
- Masking
- Paint Measurement
- Compound - Menzerna FG400
- Final Polish - Sonax Perfect Finish 4/6
- Last step - Opticoat
- Inspection with Fenix, Brinkmann, and natural sunlight
- Wheel wells were cleaned - polished - Opti Coat
- Rubber and Plastics Treated
- Exterior windows and mirrors cleaned and sealed
- Exhaust tips cleaned
- Windows were auto scrubed, cleaned, and sealed

Are those scratches permanently gone or they may come back when the wax is gone after a year?
I had a similar experience at new car delivery. I had to refuse taking delivery of car and cancel transaction and ended up buying from another dealer.

They are permanent, as long as the paint is properly taken care of and washed carefully afterwards. Wax will just protect it somewhat from swirling. Also wax usually doesnt last a year, but what he used, something like opticoat its much more durable than wax

That dealer new car prep 'tech', aka the $8 an hour slug they just hired, must have used a rough bristle push broom and a rake on that snow job...I'd be pizzed at the 'upscale' Audi dlr.

Its all about the correction work beforehand.

The FG400 (compound) and Perfect Finish 4/6 (polish) work prior to any waxing, sealant, or coating in this case will ensure those particular scratches are actually removed and not just hidden, to return at a later date.

"GLAZE"-es are the ones that are designed to hide them for awhile

Artem and myself happen to be the resident paint correction guys around here, no glaze ever touches my cars. fix it or forget about it! in my opinion

Glaze just masks the issues, I NEVER touch the stuff!

Detail hand washed/dried every other week (takes 1.5 hrs).

I use a Cyclo-polisher to blend out towel/surface scratches and scuffs, then finish with a good wax twice a year (spring and fall, takes around 6 hrs).

Plastic still looks new (never dyed), treated 4 times a yr with plastic sealer.

...10 yrs and over 175k miles.
