Your '03's engine and the '04 engine you are buying are different blocks. I would assume that you'd need to swap all the wiring over to get your pre-facelift to work with the facelifted engine.
It does seem like to much work if you're only looking for the extra horsepower (286HP vs. 315HP). |

The engine only has 2k miles on it. As I'm reaching 65K on mine, I figured I'd make an offer, 2K for the engine and figure another 2K labor and parts? So it's not so much the horse power I'm after, as it's just an opportunity to upgrade (lower miles, better MPG, pick up, etc). It's listed for 3k, doesn't that seem really cheap?

The engines, harnesses and computer control are not compatable at all... even the vehicle internal lighting is different to compensate for the snap electrical draw of the valvetronic motors. So unfortunately, I wouldn't plan on getting that engine for swapping with your vehicle. On the otherhand, if you are confident that you can sell it for a decent profit, then maybe go for it..
