Roof Box

I am looking for a roof box to tote the kids crap for summer vaca and skis in the winter. I have my eye on the BMW 460 but can't find any reviews or info it ... anyone have any tips or pitfalls to avoid?

The only tip I can offer is go buy a Thule.
Same box (exactly) at 1/3 of the price.

It doesn't however day BMW on it.

Decided on the OEM racks compliments of getbmwparts.com and an Thule Atlantis 1800 box from Rack and Go in NY. What I like about the 1800 is it is wider than most but not as long, if memory serves me 84 x 34. In other words it should fit perfectly.. and look good.

thule

I bought a Thule off of Amazon - cheapest price and free shipping - i think the atlantis 1600 or 1800 - chose it based on seeing it on top of another bmw x5 picture posted here - i have stripped the thule logos off and replaced them with X5 badging on the sides and a roundel hood emblem on back - will post a pic soon

At the dealer I went with the 1600 in black. The black matches the car nicely. Plyon - How fast do u drive with the box?
