Wheel failures?
I was on the interstate about a month ago and heard a loud bang in the undercarriage but I hadn't run over anything. At the next exit I realized I had a flat on the rear 19". I changed the wheel and the following week took it to have a new tire installed. Once the new tire was installed they called me out to take a look and there is a crack/puncture in the middle of the wheel as if it had been hit with a hammer. I don't entirely believe that the tire place didn't damage the wheel themselves as hard as they were trying to sell me on aftermarket wheels. I know there was a recall for the Lotus Esprit a few years back because of stress cracks in the wheels.
Has anyone else had a similar issue?

From my fading memory, I don't recall a "wheel failure"
post in the past 5+ years. Not that it couldn't occur, but I suspect whatever flattened your tire also impacted your wheel, but that's jes' a guess. GL,mD
