BMW dealer. Check eBay. Not sure why you have ruled out replicas all together. Well done replicas are just as reliable, just as nice, can't be identified as replicas by 99.999999% of BMW owners and cost thousands less.

then where can i find really well made replicas for the 87? and are the diamaris good for it? i like the fat-tire look.

Go with the stock Diamari setup (275s and 315s) . Look around on eBay for replicas, but ONLY go with one that carries a lifetime guarantee. When you find one you like, post the link here and let guys give you feedback. I ran replicas on my X5 for 40,000+ miles without issue.

the second link looks good (so does the first but there is one guy on the board who had an issue with that dealer I believe).
email them and ask about their structural warranty (this should be lifetime, and means that the rim will not bend or come out of round). Also, have tires mounted and balanced by the person you buy from, that way you aren't dealing with issues later.
