Exclamation Warning....Girlie tire/wheel question

Will my winter set up off my E53 fit my dad's 2007 V10TDI Touareg? I have a brand new set of Pirelli Ice and Snows mounted on 18' OEM wheels. My dad has a 2007 Touareg and wants my tires, his tires are the same size. Are wheels different between car manufacturers? Lugs, bores whatever? How do I find out?

TIA

Laura, wow your dad has a V10 TDI? Nice!! (but I'll take yours over his though )

Regarding your question, the answer is no E53 (or any bmw's) wheels will not fit VW's because of different bolt patterns. Why don't you use them for your E70?

Thanks. I was told they wouldn't fit, the bore size or something.

cmyX5go,

I think it's cute the way you ask a question that a man should now (when I think that knew the answer)...

I've found that no matter how stupid the question might be, it's how you ask it

Thanks

You're most welcome. BTW keep firing away with the "gurlie" questions.

L, the torque on your dad's V10 must be frightening. Have you driven it yet and how does it compare to your equally frightening 4.8i?

if he just wants the tyres and if they are the same size that he has on his Treg. Why not take the tyres of your rims and he can fit them on to his rims.

Job Done.

I've driven it a couple of times locally around town. I did drive him back from NYC once and got to kick it around a bit on the highway. Although I was impressed with the acceleration off the line it doesn't compare to the 4.8i. Two different beasts. Top end, that's another story. I hate the steering. It's so loose. I'd be driving in circles with the same movements in the X.

We did. I thought it would be easier for him to just swap wheels instead of having to screw around each season changing the tires on his rims.

That's about what I expected your answer would be. Different beasts indeed but the T-reg doesn't look no where as good as yours.
