Wanting 20"s instead of my 17"s

I am a proud new owner of a 03 BMW X5 3.0I (E53) AWD with 17" wheels. I really like the 20"s that come on the 2008 X5. Has any one upgraded or changed to them. If not, what is the min/max offset that I can put on there without causing any problems. I love the look of the 20"s but do not want to cause any maintenance problems by adding them. Lastly, my X5 is white and any suggestions on wheels, chrome or silver. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well there is a chance that I may go bling bling for awhile. Just talk to this guy that is selling some 20s that is sitting in his garage. He sold his X5 awhile ago and still had the rims. Not sure of the Style # but they were the chrome 20s on a 4.6 X5. Selling them for $350 on some older tires. Wheels maybe a steal......

Do I need to get an alignment after adding the 20's from the 17's?

Definately go with silver, and get a staggered set! And you won't have any problems clearance-wise because you could put 22s on your X5 if you wanted to. As for the alignment, when I upgraded to my 20s I didn't have any problems with it.
