Will the ride Change..?

Hi guys,
I just picked up my 2009 320i, it has 16" alloys with RFT on it.

If i dump these in favour of a bigger rim with conventional tyres, will it change the ride dramatically..?

I ride now is smooth and nice, well anything would be upgrading from my e36 (90) model, that was lowered with 17" alloys and low profile tyres.

I was told that the suspension needs to be calibrated again..? or speedo..?

I was told as long as the overall ride height of the wheels rubber and alloys is the same, then nothing has to change..?

this doesn't answer the ride question though..
