what size wheels can i use...

2001 x5 with staggered 255/50/19 and 285/45/19 looking to get some winter wheels and tires. what sizes can i use? i know i can go 235/65/17 as well as buy winters for what i have already, but what other sizes can i go to if any...any help would be good thanks

i'm running 18s style 153 (18x8.5 x 4rims) for winter- vredestein.
Pirelli, etc also make great winter tires. You can now buy the Vredesteins in the 19 staggered set too. Pretty much, whatever you wish, they most likely make it.

I would stay with the 18 instead of 17 especially if you buy a HP (high speed) winter tire. When on dry road or highway, they still perform well and don't 'give' as much as the 17s will.
