I highly suggest OE BMW rotors. As for pads, I have 90%+ less dust with PBR/Axxis Deluxe pads but don't really like the feel too much. Heard many good things about Hawk HPS.

Alright some have been looking around and have seen some recommendations, however I have been seeing a lot of websites for E53 parts but not too many for E70s. The sites I do find for parts seem to start carrying them from 2008 on. Can I use 08 parts on my 07? I assume they are the same rotors and pads but before I spend the money I want to make sure!
If anyone has a good parts site let me know. I was able to buy parts for my E46 M3 everywhere but this X5 is a lot harder to order stuff for it seems. |

Look into the Akebono Euro Ceramic pads, very quiet and very very low dust and have very decent stopping power as well

Prostop ceramic pads from autozone... Absolutely zero dust around $50+ front $20+ rear I kept OEM rotors was some squealing about 100 miles in but once they settled they were good. Initial bite isn't there like the OEM pads but very good for stopping and last very long. Im at about 30k with these pads and there is still a lot of life left.

Agree- with Prostop Platinum
I purchased my car with under 50k miles. Last year hovering around the 95k mark I figured the pads need to be changed out of time interval and mileage (no wire was tripped on the pads to throw a light). Anyway, after pulling off the wheel a year ago and 15k miles they looked very good by depth.
Just pulled of the wheel again this year and didn't measure but by eyeball they looked like they could easily go another year. I replaced them anyway. Sure enough they were Prostop. Didn't even know where they came from until I saw this post. Minimal dust, long lasting. My next set will definitely be those.
