DSC/ABS/Brake Lights, recurring issue with pump

Hi Guys,

I have a 05 4.8is, and Im having some trouble with the DSC/ABS/Brake light on dash. 2 DSC pumps have been blown so far...

It started 2 months ago, I went to the workshop and they diagnosed the DSC pump had failed. I found a used one, they made coding works, and it worked fine ... for 1 month only. They lights reappeared, I went to the same workshop, and same diagnostic... I asked for a new pump, installed and coding done, the lights disappeared.... for 1 week. I now have the lights on, and it is most likely the pump again. I am trying to investigate what is making the pump fail.

I looked it my battery at the wiring seems a bit weird (thanks to previous owner), one black wire small diameter (IBS?), next to positive battery cable, is cut and wrapped in tape. I am suspecting bad isolation problems, that might cause the failure of the pump.

Going to work on it tonight, I will keep you posted. If you have some hints, let me know.

Bruno
