Running Square Tires on Staggered Rims

I have a 2005 X5 sport package which has staggered front and rear rims. I'm considering a dedicated set of snow tires on the stock rims, but I haven't had any luck finding them in the correct staggered fitment.

Stock fitment is 255/50/19 in front and 285/45/19 in back.

Can I run 255/50/19 all around? Using the online comparison calculator it looks like the overall diameter, revs/mile, etc. are very close. Is 255 too much of a stretch of the rear rims? How would this effect the X drive system?

Thanks in advance!
