Just one more instance of BMW attempting to compete directly with Japan. There is no need for 8-speeds, why not spend those funds perfecting SMG so you have something near as capable as Audi's configuration. Or, perfect your AWD system.

7 speeds i think is ok but 8 speed is a waste
