Talking deposit paid on 645 convertible!! =)

so i had a buddy at a BMW dealer pull the VIN on the car and, without revealing any confidential information, checkk to see whether there are any red warning flags about the car. and then i even had the shop that exclusively serviced the car check the same thing. simply put, both results were the same: the car is not only perfect, but it's also had no problems whatsoever, and also it's had EVERYthing done exactly on time.

that the carfax report came back clean only added to the confidence in the vehicle.

so now i'm just waiting for the lemon check from BMW which should arrive next week!!

the dealer even offered to resfurace/buff out the rims to eliminate any curb scuffs; and to replace a curiously worn shift knob lol.

now i just gotta suffer/wait impatiently for that check so i finally get the thing!

i will post pix and review shortly thereafter

hey guys- thanks for all the continued guidance, support, and, well, let's just say the slogan for this site couldn't be more accurate "come for the knowledge, stay for the friendships"

Phil-yeah i'd love to meet up, sure! Once i check back here in a week or so with photos, send me another msg and let's arrange something -- and defintiely the sooner the better since my last finals *EVER* are in about 4 weeks lol.

i'm not usually near RB, but my apt is in PB so coronado is def closer for me

hey guys, question for ya:

i know that BMW dealers -- all dealers? -- are not allowed to sell a car with worn tires below a certain point. i was wondering whether this applies to used car dealers too like the guys from whom i'm buying the 6er? it's Major Motorcars in Santa Monica- i mentioned that the tires were low, and they said they would be willing to get me tires at cost from Tire Rack. But it occurred to me- aren't they required by law to not sell a car with worn tires?

Thanks!

Well, your state should have laws that require a certain depth to pass inspection. The car you're buying would have had to pass a state inspection to be sold. So, that said, they should have the paperwork from inspection that would indicate tire condition.
