E46 n42 318i Hot-film air mass meter housing has a hole in it
Hi all, cut a long story short our 2002 n42 318 auto first came up with the check emissions light on dash, that went away on its own for months! and is back now.....next check battery charging light came on.. i checked this via OBC and battery shows 12 - 12.4V when car off and 13.8-14.2V when car is on and lights blower motor etc are on....so is my battery alternator ok?i ask as car has been cutting out whilst driving recently
I take off the plastic cover at front of engine over the radiator and take off air intake housing and notice that part of the intake system described as the resonator on realoem (Rubber boot with resonator part number 13717506181) was touching the spinning pulleys at the front of the block and this friction produced a hole the size of a matchbox in it , now this hole i am sure is upsetting the fuel mixture which may explain my rough idling and even the car stalling>? attached is a pic of the part with a hole in it, arrow indicates location of hole....any input would be great
