Carbon problems with BMW
My 535 had a carbon build-up problem at 48,000 miles, BMW thanks to my dealer covered it. I have also had trouble with the fuel system and value timing system. The car has never stranded me but troubles keep coming every six to twelve months.

This seems to be more of a problem with turbo's .

N54 carbon buildup - big problem?
