Ol'X5 to M5: helluva leap!
You may need new tires after run 8...looks like Giants/Jets stadium parking lot. M5 and 'practicality' don't come up in my mind together, but cool car! GL, mD

The previous owner put some HARD all-seasons on the car. They have a 50k mile treadwear warranty, but that has since been voided by me autocrossing. And since these are all-seasons, they overheat quickly and give up way before the brakes do. I still have plenty of tread life though.
I still find the M5 practical. I'm not hauling around anything big enough that requires the hatch area of an X5. When I need to haul around 5 passengers, bags, luggage and sports equipment, the M5 does it all fine. Then, when I want to have fun, I simply empty it all out and drive to an autocross. It is also possible to fit 4 spare wheels in the M5 and not have everything in the passenger seat. When I need to haul mulch, lumber, and giant home appliances, I don't find the X5 practical either. We still keep it around for daily driver purposes, but we let the pickup do all the utility work.
