Music Storage - Compression rate?
The recording process is fine (if a little slow) but the audio quality leads me to believe that the compression might be 96 or 112kbs. I didn't see any owner's manual based method to change or enhance that. ![]() Anyone up to speed on the compression type and/or bit rate on the hard drive?

I think most owners of the X5M are listening to the engine
. That's a good question I'm curious, too, how the hard drive is working as far as storage for music.

iPod and Sat for me. The on board music storage is a cool concept but having a HUGE iTunes library makes the iPod dock the way to go for me.

Not yet. Does it actually look pretty decent?

Yes, the quality is very good. And the sound is too.
I'm eager for someone to hack the nanny that won't let (my wife) watch a movie while I am driving around

How does the music storage work? CD only? If you put a CD in does it automatically store to the HD? Or can you store music from your ipod in the harddrive?
Thanks.

I think you can store from the iPod (USB devices), but I haven't tried that. Edit - Oh, when you're storing music, you can listen to the radio/SAT but not any CD (or likely USB) source. It's a nice feature if the CD rip gets interrupted, it will pick back up where it left off. It is (kind of) slow - 5 to 10 minutes for a studio music CD. Details:
