Definitive answer ??? v. 1200 mile service

Do we know if there is a 1200 mile service on the car yet?
I've heard some people say yes and others say no.

I'm wondering if there is a definitive answer yet?

I had the dealer in Palm Springs and Savage BMW in Ontario both tell me the same thing when I talked to their service managers. The X ///M's do not require the standard ///M 1200 mile service that's done on the normally aspirated ///M's.

I got the same answer from my SA ... Thinking I might change the oil anyway at 3k, turbo engines get hotter and it's better to err on the side of caution

I'm doing the same - after the break-in.

Should be easy:

I agree. Better safe than sorry. For us, we usually only put about 4000 miles a year on each of the cars, so the annual oil change that is included, is likely going to be fine.

BTW - love the pics of the underside of the car - how long do you think it will remain that pristine?

Oh, it's already a mess.

That pic was 3 days after I picked her up and without any rain.

Been raining here since
