New toy!

Took delivery yesterday at PCD, drove home (900+ miles) in last two days.

First, the PCD experience, as everyone has noted, is awesome.

Second, they had a white X5-M for me to flog when I was there. NYC rules applied...nothing like the smell of burning rubber to make me happy, especially when it's not mine! The car is freaking unreal...it literally defies the laws of nature. A car this big should NOT do the things that it does. Unreal. The instructors kept asking me to floor it so they could hear the exhaust!

Third, in real life, keeping it below 105mph on the drive back proved challenging. Pulling out to pass (especially in fire-breathing dragon mode, aka Sport Mode) on the highway was always an exercise in aural thrills (the exhaust note is mean when you're really on it) and a very rapid speed warning.

To say that I'm thrilled would be an understatement! About the only thing wrong is the stock rubber...even with the residual snow we have on the ground here, the regular summer tires handle like hockey pucks with only tiny amounts of moisture underneath them, but that will be fixed really soon.

Congrats! What a great Christmas gift.

How did you do on the slalom, that must have been a blast.

The X5 M in the slalom is ridiculous...the steady-state speeds you can achieve through there was only exceeded by the immense speeds you could generate going down that sweeper. Right after they said that we had to leave DSC on, we got out there and they switched to M-mode. Oh my goodness. It's just ridiculous. They let me drift around the skidpad a bit in the 335i, too, which was a hoot!

Great guys, great time.
