Thx 998M. Couldn't have said it better myself! Once the summer tires come off the 20" stockers, they will not be going back on. These will be my dedicated winter set.

Its my understanding that RFTs in general are not good to be continuously swapped back on and off as the stiffer side calls can be compromised.

Anyways, I will have a summer set of 21" wheels I will be using.

No problems for my shop to install the 275s on the stock rears...they really bitched putting my Pilot Sport Cups on my stock Z06 rears (345s on 13" rims), so this must not have seemed so bad...

Would be too risky for me...
Same for me - I have a dedicated set, switched over to winters from all seasons this year, what a difference. Looking for a set of rims for the summer set up now.

well up here where we have winter driving conditions most of the year, we leave the stock wheels and switch between summer/winter tires...its not really a big deal. ya, you can take it to the nteenth level and what if this/that.. but use your common sense.

and i'm also using the 275s all around...
try a different tire place

I have full-width Pirelli Scorpions.. they did fine in our recent 16" snowfall.

It's not a Jeep and if you drive with that understanding, you'll do just fine.

I will rotate them on/off in fall/spring. I've spoken to a tire rep directly and he said that there is no meaningful degradation to the tire's performance/safety by doing so.

YMMV.

Great to know that the rep said its OK to swap the tires, you always here that swapping RFTs could be a problem. This helps me a lot because I'm still undecided on wheels, so at least for this summer I can run the stockers without worrying about the tires.

Hey HIRISC, love your lift post on 6-speed, something I'd like to do in the near future.

The solution is to have 4 front rims. I ran my 4.6is with 275/40/20 Pirelli Ice/Snow Scorp's on 4 fronts with 30mm spacers on the rear for a stock look. Ran this setup for four Northeast winters, numerous trips to VT etc and never once came even close to an issue.

When I get my 4.8is I think I'm gonna run 19x9.5 CSL reps all around with 275s

I have been running Toyo Proxy II all seasons on the 20 inch rims: they work great in rain and snow! Also much better feel than the OEM Dunlop runflats. Tire wear rating is about 400.
