No ///M here but
Don't kid yourself on the 50i tt being much better. According to the OBC I get low 12s on my X6 with the performance upgrade mixed city/hwy. It's better on hwy trips. I got just shy of 300 miles on a tank going to MD this weekend. Otherwise I'm in the low 200s also. I never run the tank all the way down but it seems there is a disconnect. I'll be on half a tank after traveling 90 or so miles but the OBC says 200 miles to empty. Doesn't add up. I need to do a manual calculation and see what I come up with.
And my brake squeal eventually went away.

Neil,
I did just get my car friday but I will tell you the gas mileage sucks A**. I mean i went through a tank in about 240 miles- jeez- that is just ridiculous in my opinion and with your M engine- i would probably pass out with mileage and gas bills- but my avg. is not any better unfortunatley |

i havn't looked in a while but don't most big SUVs (subuerban or Tahoe XL) get around 10-12 MPG? And we are a LOT faster.

10 mpg? I hope it's running in the 10s at the strip...heavy car, lots of hp, etc. Whatcha gonna do? Curious to see the long term mkt for these kinds of heavy/high hp cars, when gas wanders back to the mid-high $3 buck range, here in the US. No mpg obsessive, but not sure I need a 10-12 mpg car for the street unless it's some hot exotic. GL, mD

Didn't you know that gas mileage was not going to be a selling point of any SUV/SAV, but especially a M variant?
I average about 14 miles per gallon with mostly mixed driving. 18 miles per on the highway. This is in line with my previous M5. I mean, if your wanting "good" gas mileage, should have gone with the diesel. Or not have gotten a SAV/performance SAV. J |

What's the fix for the brakes? That's the one thing I notice -- the crazy loud brakes when in reverse.
