however awesome the lemans would lose. i would put money on it anyway

wow interesting...I think if the lemans was a dual clutch then maybe it might have the edge...

I had similar discussion with someone from BMW M division recently
X5 LeMans was designed at that time to be equivalent of then E46 M3.
Although it had more HP it did not have better 0-60.
E53is is right.

///M engineers were given the goal of 0-60 of current E92 M3 for X5 M.

I was thinking more of track times, not a 0-60 drag race. I just resorted to using Wiki, but it has the X5 LeMans lapping the ring at 7:50 and the e46 M3 at 8:22. It also has the e92 M3 at 8:05. Looks like the X5 LeMans destroys both of those cars. The X5 LeMans had 700 hp and 500+/- lb.ft. of torque. That is massive. Is the X5M capable of sub 8:00 ring times? What would a drag race to 100 or 150 look like between the two?
