BMW dealer Needs techs, currently Larry, Moe & Curly cant cut it!

X5M has been in shop for 6 weeks and counting because it needed a new cable for back up display & passenger window will only roll down @ an inch at a time. Supposedly they finally got the right cable but cant make the window work.

They allowed me the use of a brand new stripped down 3 series.

I have put 3800 miles on their stripped down 3 they put me in. whenever they are able to fix it im gonna have them detail it & park it on the showroom floor, since its gonna be so much like getting a new one I want my wife to get the full treatment! If they dont hurry their car will have more miles on it than mine does!

Can they seriously not figure out how to initialize the window's anti-trap? There's even a service function to do it in the diagnostic computer if you can't get it manually. From the sound of it the cable was ordered from Germany... we usually give the customer back their vehicle till it comes in as it takes so long.

waiting for the cable was only the problem for the first few weeks! getting past the window has been their problem for the last few. these dipsticks replaced the window motor & who knows what else.
the problem really is the techs and i know this for 3 reasons!
1.the 6 plus weeks they have been working on my cable & window that aint fixed yet!
2. they worked on my 535i so long that BMW bought it back & it was simple problems too.
3. the same clowns worked on my 750Li so long that BMW bought it back & again the problems were not things it would take NASA to figure out.

I'm not sure how you would go about calculating odds but i'd say that a group of competent techs wouldnt be stumped by the problems ive had & ive never heard of anyone getting 3 vehicles in a row from any manufacturer with problems that couldnt be fixed. My guess is my BMW store is in need of a complete new crew of techs to work on BMW's for them & the guys they have now should get a shovel & head to the horse stalls to do something they might could figure out.

the saga continues

the ringleader of the circus known as my BMW dealership calls on friday telling me he thinks they are gonna get my M back to me. the rest of the day the phone goes quiet? finally @ 6pm he calls back to tell me there was a blip in my screen & he didnt want to give it back until it was completely fixed. and by the way he said while he had me on the phone, did i ever notice a chip in my windshield, well he said the chip(that it didnt have) had spread down the middle of my windshield? he could tell by my reply that this was not gonna flyso he quickly changed horses & let me know that since it happened while in their care they would be replacing it. monday is 7 weeks and my wife is wearing me out.
MAN! IF THERE ARE ANY BMW TECHS IN THE CENTRAL TEXAS AREA THAT NEED A JOB, GET TO BRYAN TEXAS & HELP THESE IDIOT'S OUT. PLEASE.

How far a drive is a different dealer? I think they have better techs at Woodlands BMW... met some good techs from there in training a few times.

they are the worst but they are good to me.

just a trip to the next closest dealership would kill the biggest majority of a day. because time is way more valuable than money & as bad as my dealership is when its all said & done they really do make things right for me. but i do keep hoping that they will get some techs that have a clue!
