Question 2011 X5M Lease Buy-Out?

Hey everyone, been awhile since I've posted on this board.

I've been enjoying my 2011 X5M for awhile now, it has about 25,000 miles on it.

The 2 year lease ends on 5/1 and I am trying to decide if I should do the lease buyout?

I have practically every option on it besides active cruise control. In carbon black. I've also painted the stock wheels a nice charcoal color, changed the reflectors to body color, got the black front grill and installed a laser jamming system (which is awesome btw).

The lease buyout is $65k.

Thoughts?

65k does not sound bad. Similar mileage 2011 X5 M on cars.com are going for above 70k.

I should probably explain my objective too...I want to order a new 911 for June production and August delivery.

I was hoping the numbers worked so I could buy my X5M instead of having to return it on 5/1 and then do a dealer trade-in when my new 911 arrives in August.

I guess the question is if the dealer will give me a fair trade in price. I wouldn't mind buying it for $65k now and turning it in for $60k in August.

I also think I might be able to negotiate a few grand off the buyout too (I think?)

Have you asked if BMWFS will extend lease for a few months? Even at a higher rate it may end up being the same money without the risk of a larger loss....

Well, I would have to pay to return to the car to stock too if I don't buy it. That would cost me another $1k or so probably.

I am asking my Porsche dealership what they would do on a trade and I'll let you guys know so you also have a point of reference. I am just hoping for around $60k...keeping fingers crossed.

Dealer said starting point was $61k. I am going to pass and just return my car I think unless someone wants it.

I think the total cost to me will be around $68k.

Anyone in the tri-state want a used '11 X5M?! Probably not for that price...

$65 is above wholesale for those miles. I traded my '11 to porsche for $70k with 15k miles. Ordered a PTS Mexico Blue 991S Cab for Oct Delivery
