X5M problem
Does anyone else have smoke coming out of the tailpipes when flooring it?

yes.normal......our cars burn oil and under hard acceleration smoke will billow.... Just check your oil levels and keep it full to keep everything lubed correctly. I keep my oil level at maximum. Coolant equally important during summer months as most dealers dont check fluids as they say!

Ok cool. I kind of figured, being turbo and all. Just like my S4's.

The BWW TT like to use some oil. I have a good friend that is a SA at a Bill Jacobs and he tells me that the the 4.4TT (x5, 550, 750) based on short driving conditions will burn oil. My last two X5's were 1qt every 3-5k miles. I get my oils changed in my BMW's every 7.5k ish so I am usually at 1 top off in between changes. The more short trips you take the worse it is. Here is a like to the new SIB which discusses the oil use in the BMW V8TT's I can only assume this is the same for //M variants of the 4.4TT
