Have the Brake, 4x4 & ABS light triad,...did steering angle reset, lights still on.
I just picked up a 2004 X3 3.0 sport with the ABS/4x4/Brake lights on,....The seller had recently installed a new battery,.....so,...I hoped that the steering angle reset done by rotating the steering wheel full left, right then back to center would fix it. It did not. Later,....I was reviewing the repair orders that came with the car,....and saw one for rotating the transfer case actuator gear 30K miles ago,....so, I don't have the option of rotating the actuator gear,.....but did find replacement gears on line so, not an issue.
I do NOT have the clicking that has been mentioned when putting it in park or shutting off the vehicle.
My question is this: Is there any way to determine if my actuator is still working (other than the gear being worn out),....or if I just need another gear,...or,....could I have a bad steering angle sensor??
