Oil Pan Gasket replacement

Thanks for the step by step and tips. I have an 07 with same issue (80,000 miles) and threw up quite a bit when I heard how much it costs to change the oil pan gasket.....but not nearly as much when I found out what a pain in the ass it is to change yourself. I've replaced numerous oil pan gaskets on both new and old (60's muscle) cars and none required dropping the sub-frame, drive shafts, blah blah blah....and none that took longer than 20 minutes (vs 20 hours)....WTF. Wife and kids will be spending summer in CT with Gandma so while I'm home playing bachelor, I guess I'll be playing a little BMW repair technician as well. Good times!- Thanks again.
