As I indicated at the start...the dash light shows that the headlight is out but not so.
SOLUTION DISCOVERED: The headlight was not being fed full power (I could see the passenger light was slightly weaker) we all know these BMWs are pigs when it comes to need of power hence the titanic size battery. I also was having a drain problem with the AGM battery. I noticed the battery cable end under the hood was a bit crispy. I chopped off the existing terminal end and replaced it with a thicker copper "lug"...see pic, that done the trick. Maybe all in my head but , Starts are snappier and no more phantom dash indicator lights. Engine noise coming through the radio/speakers...is gone! And I sure didn't want to replace the full cable by removing the air intake (M54)... probably saved my battery and starter. ![]()
