Help...question about exhaust tip!!

I have a '06 BMW X3 with the M Sport Package. Before I got the car I didn't know that the M package already comes with their own chrome exhaust tip, which is kind of ugly.

It was too late because I had already purchased the X3 chrome exhaust tip everyone was talking about. The tip that I bought cannot fit over the M package tip for it has a bigger diameter.

It looks like the M package tip is fitting over another tip but I'm not sure if it's welded on or not and I'm scared to yank it off risking damage. Does anyone of you have any experience with this please help!!
