X3 3.0i rear differential gone
A good friend of mine has just purchased a used X3 3.0i with 34,000 miles on the clock. When the car is being driven at around 2,000rpm or 40mph in top gear there is quite a loud thrum from the rear compartment. At first we thought it was the exhaust but it turns out its the rear differential and it needs replacing according to his dealer.

Anyone else had this problem?
