They are not real xenons. Not even a xenon headlight kit. A xenon kit will come with xenon bulbs, ballast, ignitor, projector, etc... I doubt they are even filled w/ xenon gas. It's just all marketing. They are just regular bulbs with a blue tint over them to get rid of the yellowish look. Sorry if that was a disappointment. But to answer your questions, they will work for your X. I have those type of bulbs on my high beams and fogs to match my real xenons. Just make sure you get H7 55Ws or else it will give you error lights on the dash.

BTW, you can get them real cheap on ebay.

They ARE xenon bulbs, they're just not H.I.D. bulbs. Most people use the term "Xenons" incorrectly to refer to H.I.D.s, and I assume what you're really interested in are H.I.D.s

Switching to a Xenon charged bulb versus a Halogen charged bulb will give you much improved lighting (I always change mine over on my vehicles that don't have HIDs) for the price of a simple bulb swap. If you want the best quality, though, you will need to go to an H.I.D. (high intensity discharge) system, and that involves changing the electronics and lamps. What's shown in that ad is a Xenon bulb designed as a swap for a Halogen bulb; it's not a H.I.D. upgrade kit.

Hey Maxey-
This UK supplier comes very highly recommended, and their bulbs just won some accolades as the best value in 2005. They are also offering a hard-to-beat 2-pairs for price of 1 (not sure how long it'll last)
Check em out at: http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk.
I can't link directly to the X5 bulbs, but there's a vehicle search on the page.
I'm ordering their fogs so that they'll be a closer match my Xenons once my conversion is done.
Good luck.
