Are you in NoVA? If so, go to http://www.chipdr.com/ and they can fix it for you and it'll look damn near like it never happened. They repaired a nickel sized star on my windshield. Their # is on the front page or you can email them directly there. Ask for Joanna if you call.

One good thing about Florida insurance law. If you have a damaged windshield, your insurance company has to repair (or replace it, if you aren't happy with a repair) at no charge. No deductible. And, you can demand OEM glass, too. Too bad Virginia doesn't have that law.

I had the same thing happen to me about a month after I got the car. Piss me off, haven't repair it yet, but the crack hasn't gotten larger either. So I guess I will just live with it.

Hey-ho, so it goes... Had my first large stone in the windshield on the X3 at ~3,000 miles, and again just yesterday at ~4,000 miles.
Not cracked, no 'star', but both left nice wide, shallow gouges at pretty much the exact same height in centre-left of the windshield. Nice & visible - which will look great every time the sun comes out. ![]() Stones that used to sail over the roof of my Ci just hit smack dab in the w/s of the X3. I've seen it's the same on X5s - that's the drawback of of high ride height I guess. Still very annoying to have on a new vehicle!!
