That's exactly what I've experienced. I used to go on the cautious side and let off if the x3 started sliding mid-corner. But I found out that xDrive works so well that I just pound the throttle mid corner and despite the tires protesting the x3 just does some minor tail wagging but otherwise stays glued.
Having gotten used to my X3, I drove my friend's new 325i (154 mi on the odo) yesterday and found it quite different in terms of handling. I threw it into a right turn at over 45mph with DTC off, and the rear swung very wide and as a driver I was forced to do much more in terms of correction. I guess run-flats don't grip well..........and needless to say, my friend won't be letting me within 15 feet of his (parents') car ever again.
