The new X3 looks alot more X5-ish with its black exterior trim, revised tail lights, dash trim, and new steering wheel. The dash trim especially livens up the interior which previously did not have enough contrasting colors.

The thing I dislike the most about the X3's are the rear quarter windows in the cargo area. I don't like how the window's bottom edge turns up over the rear wheels. A more conventional Hofmeister Kink would have looked much better.

I can't believe we're looking at facelift pictures of vehicle that just got facelifted. Where are the darn E70 production pictures?

Do you mean like if they carried the bottom horizontal line a little farther back before the kink? I could see that... Might look good.

And I guess the yearly facelifts will make it easy to tell model years apart!

Wow so hot... Maybe I won't get a E92 or E85 after all !

The new wood should be nice.

Has anyone noticed how the nets in the doors are no longer present? And replaced with true pockets.

I will miss mystic blue though... Monaco blue isn't very enticing and montego is very in your face...

The old X3 looked great, but this one looks a lot more business like and professional.

Good job BMW.

Edit: Ooh, the leather stitching on the doors looks fabulous as well ! I'll be very interested to see what the two tone, beige & black look like..!

I find it amazing that BMW has yet to release the Diesel option here in the US.
Remember.....I thought we have a fuel crisis going on! Anyway, the Mercedes also doesn't offer their fine turbo diesel (that outperforms their gas counterpart) in their new SAV.

Help me out here, what going on? Maybe the timing with low sulfur standards, effective this fall, is to blame!

I would easilly spend the $2k-3k premium to that T-Diesel.

BRING IT ON....please!

BMW has repeated on several occasions that the X5 will be the first diesel vehicle the U.S. will see...

So they are coming, just slowly...

How can it be the first diesel vehicle in the USA? You guys have just started to receive the SMART cars, and also Benz has been selling the E320 CDI for 2 years now.

Perhaps the X5 will be the first diesel-powered SUV.

BTW, forgot to comment on the facelifted X3. I think it looks plainly HOT, and completely turns around the image which the X3 has been carrying so far.
