which will be around 31k mi.We changed oil ourselves at around 23,500mi, so I'd figure I'll just run the maintenance meter down to <500 miles before scheduling. |

I sure wish I had the time to change the oil in both my cars. I used to enjoy doing all my own maintenance. Now it is just easier to have someone else do it.

We used the jack and drained the oil the conventional way last time........

Don't know if it is possible to change the oil in 15 minutes (it takes me double that) but why would you want to? For me, I want to have a chance to poke around and see if everything looks OK. Quick visual check of the CV boots (on the X5), skid pan tightened up again (on the 325xi), all levels checked under the hood, nothing loose or ratting, etc.
The oil change is just the excuse to have the hood open and get coveralls on to crawl underneath. Just my $0.02.
