Bull Bar and off-road lights

Anyone have experience with the BMW Bull bar on thier X3...?

And/or anyone have experience with PIAA offroad lights on thiers as well... Mounting locations? power supply? etc..

I am in a rural-suburbia section of NW NNJ and we have zero street lights...and *many* deer....I have PIAA's on my bike and love them and looking to add a set to the SAV....to aid in visibility and hoping the bull bar will provide a little more protection to the Vehicle in case bambi decides to introduce herself

Any thoughts..?

don't know about x3, but on x5 the bull bar don,t give any protection. the mounting location for the lights is on the roof-rails (the dealer said it is OEM, but did not see it on the accessory booklet)

I put an aftermarket Bull Bar on my X5 for that exact reason. (Also to push corporate yuppies and soccer moms out of my way too). It's thicker then the stock bar, and it goes under the front end a little as well. Pictures in my Gallery. I got it from autoseattle.com. Don't know if they have one for the X3 or not, but worth a shot. They drop ship from Brooklyn.

Good luck!
