It would lead me to believe something is wrong with the module. If you already have the ice>Link, you can order the DICE module only and use your existing wiring:

But whats weird is why the stations dont reset after leaving the battery disconnected ? I would like to see the settings be reset first to see if that works. Is there any other way to reset the computer ?

I had an earlier issue with a MY06 X3 that couldn't take 3 different icelink modules, even though the modules were brand new. We ended up going with the DICE afterwards (new at the time). The DICE does run a modified code for the MY06 Z4 (unlike the base for the ice>Link), the X3 shares the same system so this may be where your problem lies.

Even new, the ice>Link systems are no longer available - the DICE ktis have replaced them back in May.

We have a comparison of the kits here:

http://www.europeanautosource.com/ipod_matrix.php

The ice>Link is no longer manfactured, the DICE has replaced the ice>Link Plus.
