Region-free DVD reader...
I'm a rookie on the site, even if I read it daily for weeks now... I bought an OEM BMW DVD-Rear entertainment system for my X3, and may enjoy it in a couple of weeks The BIG problem is that it is locked for reading only region 1 DVDs (North America)m while I live in region 4 and my childs -Frenchies- have a collection of region 2... See the problem ... I'd like, as it's possible on any home DVD system, to make it a region-free reader, but need your help as it seems the web is absolutely empty of any kind of information about this cruel situation Thanks to you all guys |

Most DVD manufactures use the same method to de-regionise their players. Can you identify who made this unit for BMW (does it have any labels?). If you can it may be possible to identify a means otherwise
you could copy the DVD's using a PC, removing the region coding in the process. There are a lots of ways to do this, see http://www.videohelp.com/ for info. |

I can help out big time for you my friend. But not with the BMW OEM DVD player. I manufacture an alternative that I can code Region free or Region 0 for you and fits all BMW applications. Let me know If I can be of any assistance to you.
