Question Problem w/ on board computer??

One of the function on the on board computer is fuel consumption. I wonder why my fuel consumption is same for 1st gear through 4th gear (no chance to try 5th and 6th yet).
It shows steady at 16.5 Litre/100km, yesterday freezed at 15.9 Litre/100Km and today it is 15.3.

The 1st gear should consume much more gas than 4,5,6th gear. I dont know why my # is fixed and change only once a while.
Is there something wrong with my on board computer?

My 328i fuel consumption pin did change depends on my gear.

Any idea? Do you guys have fixed # too or only my X3?

To reset: push the button on the left stalk until you get to the mpg display, then push it and hold it in. It does an average for the whole tank (or from the last time you did the above and reset the calculation), so it won't change instantanteously.
