In order of best to worst, here's my take on the seats available in the X3:
1) Sport seats............9/10 2) Comfort seats.........8/10 3) Standard seats........7.5/10 Sport seats are the best and are a good reason for getting sport package. Comfort seats are good, but not worth the extra bucks over the standard seats, which are already good. Keep in mind, the 16-way Comfort seats are straight off the E53 Comfort seats, not the Multi-contour 20-way ones on newer BMWs. |

We currently have a 07 non-sport X3 loaner. I really must give BMW props on these seats. Much better than the X5 seats..simply put they're amazing..good bolster (almost as much as the Sport seats), yet still plenty padded. I'd much rather have these over the sport seats. Imo, the sport seats are just too firm for longer trips. Considering how good the standard seats, I don't think the Comforts are worth it considering how much they cost. They are only marginally better than the non-sport seats in the X3.

I have standard seats in my 2005 X5 and they are fine. However the standard seats in the 325XI just did not feel right. My suggestion is go to the dealer and sit in them before you purchase.
