Colour Coding Bumpers.....Now with PICs :)

To All,

Just wondering if anyone else has colour coded thier 1st Gen X3's bumpers. It makes a BIG difference to the car, I picked mine up on Friday and looks like a whole different car. I'll get some pictures up soon.......
Next are some nice rims

Enjoy
Rod.

That looks good!

Interesting to see how you treated your mud flaps. I've got them (all the way around), and was wondering how I would do it if I painted the bumpers.

Thanks for the pics!

I hope this doesn't sound stupid but how do they do that? Is it just painted because if so, how does it match so well with the rest of the car? I am guessing that matching the body would not be easy? Or are the bumpers completely replaced? Or perhaps I just don't understand the whole process in the first place.

hi Jsy,

Most panel/paint workshops can do it.
They remove the bumpers, side skirts ect. Prep them so they can be painted, then they just paint them using the same paint as the original car
Dont know why BMW didnt just do it in the first place....

Regards
Rod.

Honestly, I kind of do like the bumpers in the same colour as the car, but I don't like the painted plastic around the wheel. I prefer the black line around the wheels and on the aluminium doorstep. I've learnt that when I was looking at the aero kits, where I'd prefer the aero1 (i think) with painted bumpers and plastic on the wheels, than the aero2 with all painted. But this is just my opinion, from a '06 silver grey. I'm happy than you're happy

Can you post some more photos of the mud flaps? Or some photos from Rebound, with the flaps all around?

We've ordered the car with the flaps, but they didn't come when we got the car. Now it's almost a whole year after, and we haven't yet gone back to get the flaps, so I'm curious to see how they look on the car. please photos

Your wish is my command!

From the back:

As you can see, the back flaps really look like original equipment, but the front flaps look "added on" (at least to me).

Hope this helps!
